My Superhero!

This happened to me some weeks ago… or not, I don’t know yet, maybe it was a dream but it was too personal and magical to talk about, so I just want to write about it and share it like this.

I was walking home as everyday afternoon, nothing was going wrong or out of normal, until I saw, in an hidden alley, an old woman being stolen by a man dressed in black. I doubted it, but then I quickly decided to do something to stop the thief. I didn’t think it too much so I went there and punched the man as hard as I could but of course I wasn’t strong enough to stop him. The old lady ran the faster she could, leaving me alone against the criminal. I tried to run but I didn’t have where to go, I was trapped in the alley with no escape. I tried again to kick the thief but I stupidly fell down, broke my leg and hit me on the head violently.  I was really lost, and there was nothing else I could do. The man who was like a meter away from me was coming nearer and I lost all my hopes. Suddenly, everything happened fast: a man dressed in a strange costume jumped from the roof, beat the criminal, picked me up and took me to the hospital by the rooftops of the city. It may sound weird, I know, but he looked just like a real superhero, and he seemed to have their abilities. I don’t remember much but I think he was some sort of Spiderman. Yeah, you may think I’m crazy, but that’s what I saw. My parents said the thief maybe just ran away and someone took me there by car or something, and I didn’t deny it. I don’t want them to think I’m crazy or just raving. All I know is what I saw and the fact that I believe it is enough for me. I was rescued by a superhero, and even if I was not completely conscious, it was by far the best thing I ever lived. The only thing I may regret for the rest of my life is not having said thanks to my superhero.

RESCUED!

This is a story that happened to me when I was 9 years old. I used to go to school everyday with my neighbor Stephanie. She was in the same class as me so her mother used to drive us to the school every morning. But one day Stephanie moved out far from my house because of something to do with his parent’s work, so I started taking the school bus.
It was my first day of taking the bus and I was really nervous. I don’t know why, I guess I was just too little and I was afraid because in the school bus the big boys and girls annoyed the younger ones. But I didn’t tell this to my parents because I didn’t want to worry them. I was waiting for the transport in the corner of my street and I started worrying because it was too late and I didn’t want to be late for my first class of the day that was art, my favorite. So I decided to walk, because it wasn’t so far and I thought I knew the way. I walked for a while and I realized I was lost, but I just kept on walking expecting I would find my way to the school. Suddenly, I noticed that an enormous dog escaped from a really big house and was barking and following me. I started to run as fast as I could to nowhere and tears of fear were falling from my eyes until a guy that was about 30 caught me and yelled to the beast. I was still afraid but this man became my hero the minute he saved me. His wife also took care of me, gave me food, they called my parents, and drove me home. I didn’t go to school because my legs were shaking and I was about to faint after so much running, so I stayed home with my parents and my new heroes were invited for dinner that night.
I never believed in fictional heroes like Superman, Batman, Robin hood, Spiderman or even Shrek. Those were just other characters like the prince charming and fairies from fairytales. But since that day, I felt like a rescued  damsel in distress and the car of my heroes, that took me home, was my fancy carriage because there, I felt saved after so much danger. I’m an ordinary girl, as my parents or my friends. We will not be remembered after our death by millions of people like some others, but sometimes, in the middle of our ordinary lives, ordinary heroes give us a fairytale.
